If you are concerned about sagging skin, HIFU is a revolutionary skin tightening procedure that helps to lift, smooth and tighten the skin without surgery. It is non-invasive with virtually no downtime, allowing you to return to normal activities straight away.
HIFU deposits focused ultrasound energy deep below the surface of the skin, stimulating the creation of fresh, strong collagen. It firms, tightens and lifts the facial skin for a smoother appearance. The HIFU targets the SMAS layer beneath the skin using ultrasound technology reaching temperatures of 60-70C. This is the layer a surgeon would physically lift in a facelift.
Treatments are usually carried out every 4-6 weeks and typically between 1 and 3 treatments are recommended for optimum results. Results can be seen immediately, but the skin will continue to improve up to 12 weeks after treatment as collagen is renewed. We expect results to last 1-2 years, dependent on lifestyle and maintenance.
You can experience mild warming or a slight tingling sensation, but it is not described as painful.
You may experience slight redness following treatment and a small percentage experience minor swelling, tingling and tenderness. There are no special recovery measures following this treatment.
